What Pinterest Isn’t Telling You

If you’re here, congratulations on your engagement! Planning a wedding is such an exciting time, and I’m so excited you’ve found my website! My name is Mikayla, and I’m a wedding and event florist from Salt Lake City, Utah.

As a florist, I’ve worked with and consulted with a lot of brides. I’ve met with some brides who knew exactly what they wanted, and a lot of brides who really had no clue where to begin. Both is totally fine! Don’t feel pressured that you have to know everything there is to know about flowers, or even what colors you want!

When brides inquire with me, they have the option to submit a Pinterest board or upload inspiration photos for their Utah wedding.

As a florist, I get to see what a lot of brides are planning for their upcoming wedding. I start to see patterns.

And the funny thing? Most of them all look the same. I have gotten the same inspo pictures over and over from Pinterest. ESPECIALLY for consults next year, 2026. (If you’re curious what those images are, ask me during your consult!)

My job isn’t to tell you what you should or shouldn’t want for your wedding day. But I want to give you a recommendation as you’re wedding planning. Let’s do something different.

Pinterest doesn’t tell you how long a trend has been happening.

Pinterest doesn’t tell you how overdone your wedding look is.

Pinterest doesn’t tell you if it makes sense for you and your partner’s personality.

Pinterest doesn’t tell you what is actually trending now, or what trends are coming next.

Pinterest also doesn’t tell you that the image you want is 10x over your budget.

My advice: Let your florist have some room for creativity and do something unique; that you’ve never seen before! Work together as a partnership to come up with ideas that both fit your budget and shape the mood of your whole wedding experience. We want to create a vibe around your love story. If you can’t find it on Pinterest, we’re on the right track!

If you’re planning a wedding in Utah, I’d love to help shape the mood of your wedding and design flowers that they’ll remember!
