How I’d Spend $2,500 as a Utah Wedding Florist

A common floral budgets for Utah brides is $2,500. I want to explain how I’d spend $2,500 on wedding flowers (as a Utah wedding florist). Remember, pricing may vary by state or country. And don’t forget that labor, delivery, set-up, takedown, and sales tax are separate!

Here’s how I’d spend:

$350 for the Bridal Bouquet

I know this is pricey, but believe me when I say that this bouquet will be in all your photos and you want to make sure it is a STUNNER. Let’s put in some really luxurious flowers in like sweet pea, ranunculus, garden roses, peonies, or orchids.

$30 for the Groom Boutonniere

Let’s give the man some flowers, ok??

$1,600 for a Ceremony Meadow or Floral Arch

I am always a big supporter of a WOW piece at your wedding. It will have the biggest impact and AGAIN, this is something that will be in all your photos. Before the reception, I recommend moving the pieces of the meadow in front of your sweetheart table or a stage, or if you have an arch, see if it can be moved behind your sweetheart table. Let’s repurpose as much as we can to get your the most bang for your buck!

$520 for Labor, Delivery, Set-up + Takedown, and Sales Tax

If this surprises you, you will quickly find that on top of price of the flowers, you are also paying for florists to prepare mood boards, order flowers and supplies like vessels, prep and make your floral items, design, keep the flowers alive, deliver to the venue, set up, pay our team members to help, possibly stick around till after the ceremony to repurpose items like your ceremony meadow, and then takedown your event. Don’t forget sales tax - it’s part of being a business.

As a florist, I have a list of priorities that I would recommend to you, and I used the top three in this list. If your floral wishlist is over budget, I recommend always cutting out the personal flowers (family members’ corsages and boutonnieres), bridesmaid bouquets, and centerpieces first. Our goal is to wow your guests, and corsages don’t usually help accomplish that.
